SAI (Student Administration Interface)

Overview

The Student Admin Interface (SAI) is primarily used by staff to manage student lifecycle functions such as enrolments, advanced standing, credit point maintenance, waive pre-requisites, update majors, manage course status and course progress, billing maintenance and graduation etc.  

SAI is directly connected with SOLS and works with data from our other SMP systems such as SMP_Central, Fees Revenue, Admissions and Publisher.

Privacy and data management

All staff accessing the student systems are reminded of their responsibility to comply with UOW’s Privacy Policy and IT Acceptable Use Policy.

You must not access, use, disclose, reproduce or deal with any confidential or personal information except where it relates to a legitimate business function which is specific to your role at UOW.

You must use your best endeavours to prevent unauthorised disclosure of any confidential or personal information to any person or body.

All UOW Data should be stored on UOW Approved devices or storage solutions in line with UOW's IT Acceptable Use Policy.

Help and information

SAI function help manuals can be found in the left hand navigation of SAI once you log in.

The menu item 'SAI Menu Summary' will open a pop out window where you can open each grouping of functions and view the description and manual for each function if available.

 

If you require access to this system, we require that you complete an access request form.

  • For staff with access to the UOW intranet, access request forms can be found on our intranet site.
  • For staff without access to the UOW intranet, contact us via our ServiceNOW portal and we will assist you with your access requirements and provide you with appropriate access request forms.

Login to SAI using your UOW email username and email password. If you're having problems with your email password (if you can't login to email or intranet and any of the SMP systems), see IMTS Password Management.

Session verification/Timeout

  • SAI will prompt you to re-enter your email password to continue working if you have been inactive for longer than 30 minutes.
  • If you have multiple windows open, verify your password once in one of the windows, and you will be able to continue working in all windows that are open.
  • You must click to 'Logout' before closing SAI - if you have multiple windows open, just click to Logout on one of these screens.
  • Search - Call up a new student number (Ind Ops for Staff and Students) by name, date of birth or username
  • Repeat - Call up a new student and repeat the last function performed - save time accessing the same function for multiple students
  • Advanced Search - Search for a student using their UOW email username or use a wildcard (%) to search for name
  • To open multiple windows of SAI: Right click, new window/tab
  • Issues with scrolling? Turn off browser compatibility
  • Can’t Copy & Paste reports from SAI? Highlight top left cell to the right bottom cell (user Shift and click for long reports)
  • Header or Menu disappeared? You need to open new windows from the main SAI menu
