System Requirements for using the University Website
The University's website was designed to be accessible to everyone
regardless of what browser or computer they are using,
however there are inherent limitations on how compatible a website
can be!
Basic Recommendations:
Screen:
800x600 with
256+ colours.
Browser:
Any 4th generation browser. Older browsers are supported but display less gracefully.
CSS should be enabled.
Javascript is recommended but not essential.
Plugins:
Acrobat Reader is required for viewing articles in PDF format.
The UOW Virtual Tour requires Flash 6 & Quicktime 5 plugins.
Recommended Browsers
Mozilla/FireFox - All versions are supported, no known problems.
Netscape - Netscape 7 is supported, no known problems. Netscape 4 is also supported but the software is littered with bugs, pages will function, display and print poorly. It is not recommended!
Internet Explorer - Versions older than 4 are supported, only a few known problems. Older versions are buggy with display inconsistancies but still function satisfactorily.
Opera - Versions older than 5 are supported. Older versions display inconsistantly but function well.
Safari - All versions are supported, no known problems.
Lynx - Care has been taken to ensure Lynx is still fully supported where possible.
