Meal Allowances
The rates for Meal Allowances for 2008/2009 are as follows:
- MEAL ALLOWANCES WHEN WORKING OVERTIME
A general staff member when required to work overtime will be paid a meal allowance of $23.60 in addition to any overtime payment as follows:
(a) When required to continue working beyond two hours immediately after normal finishing time (except when the overtime work ceases no later than 6.00 pm).
(b) When required to work overtime for more than five hours on a Saturday, Sunday, or Public Holiday.
(c) When required to commence duty at or before 6.00 am being at least one hour before the employee's usual starting time.
- MEAL ALLOWANCE WHEN AWAY FROM UNIVERSITY
When a staff member is required to proceed away from the University to a capital city or other area outside the Wollongong region and does not remain in such place overnight, such staff member may claim the following allowances for meals:
(a) When required to commence travel at or before 6 am and at least 1 hour before the employee's usual starting time $21.10 (Capital cities), $18.85 (country centres).
(b) When by reason of the travel, an employee is unable to take lunch at the place at which or in the manner in which the employee ordinarily takes lunch and is thereby unavoidably put to additional expense $23.65 (Capital cities), $21.55 (country centres).
(c) When required to work or travel until or beyond 6.30 pm $40.65 (Capital cities), $37.15 (country centres).
