Employee Checklist

Use this checklist to ensure you have completed all the steps necessary for your Competency Based Progression Application. Use this Checklist in conjunction with the Procedures document at EmployeeProcedures

  1. Read the Policy at Competency Based Progression Policy.

  2. Inform your supervisor of your intention to lodge an application.

  3. Make an appointment with your supervisor for a Performance Planner Interview.

    When is it scheduled for?

  4. During the Performance Planner Interview:

    Ask for a copy of the Competency Based Progression application form with the required competencies noted.

    Discuss a time frame for the progression.

    Negotiate the opportunity to perform the required competencies.

    Discuss on and off-the-job training if required.

    Ensure you attend training noted in your Performance Planner

  5. Ensure you consistently perform the required competencies.

  6. Look at an example of evidence on the Web at Evidence Guidelines.

    Ensure all attachments are clearly referenced.

    Ensure evidence has been supplied for each Element.

    Ensure your evidence is relevant, detailed and sufficient to support your application.

  7. Make an appointment with your supervisor for a Competency Based Progression interview.

    When is it scheduled for?

  8. During the Competency Based Progression Interview:

    Tick the appropriate checkboxes on the application.

    Present and discuss evidence.

    Sign the "Certification by Employee" declaration on the application.

  9. If your application is not approved, discuss further options with your supervisor.
