Field Activities

The University has developed Field Activity documents to assist in minimising the risks associated with the hazards involved in undertaking activities in the field. Supervisors, staff and students are required to meet obligations for occupational health and safety during field activity planning and participation.

When to complete Field Activity documents?

Prior to taking students on a trip outside the University, field activity guidelines and documents are to be read, completed and filed where appropriate. Collecting soil samples or samples from rock platforms, conducting plant or animal surveys and diving trips are all examples of field activities. Field activity trips include day trips and overnight excursions.

The following documentation is to be completed prior to any field work activities carried out:

Download the Field Activity Guidelines and Procedures

Download the Field Activity Plan

Download the Field Activity Risk Assessment Form

Download the Field Activity Participant Acknowledgement.
