What is this about?Reporting hazards, incidents and near misses at the University of Wollongong.
Who has to do it?Staff, students and visitors who witness an unsafe act or event that has the potential to result in an incident.
Why am I required to do this?The reporting of hazards and risks is a vital part of managing hazards risks at the University of Wollongong.
When do I have to do this?All hazards and incidents involving UOW staff, students, visitors or property must be reported.
What do I do?1.Take immediate action to prevent further damage;
2. Report the hazard, incident or near miss on SafetyNET;
3. Provide information to the supervisor or OHS Unit if required.

Reporting hazards and incidents has been made easier by utilising a web based hazard/incident report form called SafetyNET.

The University has guidelines to assist you with the reporting of hazards or incidents.

How to Report a Hazard or Incident

To report a hazard or an incident which may or may not have resulted in an injury, please click on the appropriate link:

 

Can I report a hazard or incident when I'm off campus?

Reports can be entered from off campus, however you will need to the use the VPN. Refer to instructions.

Software can be downloaded from https://vpn.uow.edu.au/.

 

Risk Register

The Risk Register is the University's database of all hazards and incidents which have been reported through the Safetynet system.

The following list comprises of the minimum browsers requirements which allow full use of SafetyNet.

The use of browsers other than those listed below will not allow full use of SafetyNET.
