Building Wardens

What is this about?University Building Wardens play an essential role within the University's emergency plan specifically in relation to our initial response to emergencies, and emergency evacuation of potentially large numbers of people.
Who has to do it?Those who are performing the duties of Building Warden.
Why am I required to do this?To ensure the safety of staff, students, contractors and visitors.
When do I have to do this?In the event of an emergency.
What do I do?Follow emergency procedures.

How do I identify a building warden?

Chief Building Warden will be identify using a white vest and building warden are identified using a orange vest.

 

Ordering Building Warden Vests

As a building warden, you are required to wear an orange vest throughout an emergency evacuation so you are easily identifiable to security and emergency personnel.

If you require an orange vest, please email the OHS Unit.
