| What is this about? | The University has an extensive OHS Management System designed to help ensure the safety of staff, students and visitors. |
| Who has to do it? | Staff, students and visitors all have roles and responsibilities in achieving OHS compliance. |
| Why am I required to do this? | The University is governed by extensive legislation to protect the health and safety of all staff, students and visitors. |
| When do I have to do this? | When roles and responsibilities are set out in UOW Policy and Procedures it is expected that they will be adhered to. |
| What do I do? | 1. Read the UOW OHS Policy, 2. Read other OHS policies that are relevant to the scope of your work, 3. Ensure you are familiar with OHS risk management and reporting requirements. |

Legislative Compliance
The University is required to identify legislation pertaining to the University's Occupational Health and Safety Management System.
To review Legislation, Codes of Practice and Australian Standards applicable to the University please refer to Legislative Compliance Guidelines

Communications
The University is required to have a systematic distribution of information as such the following communication guidelines has been developed. This guideline includes the provision of information and exchange of health and safety related information.
Document Control
To ensure consistency and uniformity across the OHS Management System documents are required to be controlled. The OHS document control guidelines set out the requirements for OHS documentation.

OHS Performance
To ensure continuous improvement in safety, the University has a comprehensive system of monitoring OHS Performance. This allows trends and areas of high risk to be identified so that corrective actions can be instigated to prevent injuries.
