Slippery when wet

Things to consider with the current inclement weather.

DO

  • Take your time when walking around the campus

    • Plan your route to avoid negotiating large pools of water
    • Be prepared for surfaces to be more slippery
    • Carry an umbrella
    • Use a handrail when on stairs
  • Consider your means of transport

    • Drive your vehicle slower and consider other road users
    • Motorcycle riders should consider alternate means of transport
  • Wear appropriate footwear for the conditions

    • A slip resistant sole material
    • A good tread pattern
    • A rounded heel edge with good area of contact (avoid raised heels with small contact area)

 

Report unsafe areas to the OHS unit or Buildings and Grounds
