How do I order first aid equipment?

First aid kits are restocked by the University's first aid supplier every 3 to 6 months depending on the risk of the area where the kit is located. However, if first aid equipment is required between inspections use the First Aid Equipment Order Form to order first equipment and supplies.

It is important that you keep the OHS Unit updated with the physical loation of first aid kits so we can arrange for the kits to be included on the list to be restocked.

Responsibilities of designated first aid officers can be found in the First Aid Guidelines. For information on first aid training courses go to the Career Development OH&S Training Calendar

My first aid allowance has stopped, what do I do?

Your first aid qualifications have a currency of 3 years and 3 months. To reflect the life of your qualifications, Personnel Services pay your First Aid allowance for a fixed 3 year period. You will then be sent an email advising you that your First Aid allowance is nearing the expiry date.

If, after the three year point, your Manager supports you continuing in the role of designated First Aid Officer, you must attend a refresher training session (refer to the links above for dates).

When you have completed the refresher you need to fill out the First Aid Allowance Request Form [PDF -81Kb], obtain your Manager's sign off and send the completed form along with a copy of your current qualifications to the OHS Unit.

We require the information on the form to update our First Aid Contacts list, and to enable Personnel Services to reinstate your First Aid Officer allowance. Please keep a copy of your first aid certification on site.

First Aid Kit Assessment Form

The OHS Unit has recently developed a First Aid Kit Assessment Form designed to ensure we have a complete list of kit locations across campus. With this information our first aid supplier will be able to ensure all kits are regularly inspected and maintained. The form can be downloaded below:
