Work Experience

Enrolled University students are eligible to undertake Work Experience with a host institution provided that the following criteria is adhered to

  • The student will not be paid whilst undertaking work experience
  • Work Experience must be approved by the Faculty/Dept
  • The Work is related to their studies (but not necessarily a compulsory component of their studies).

If the above criteria is met the student is required to complete a Work Experience Application and forward to the Insurance Officer in Financial Services.  A letter will then be forwarded to the host institution outlining the cover provided under the University’s Insurance Protections.

Please Note: Please ensure that the Work Experience Application is adequately completed with all required information as failure to do so may result in delays in processing.

Student Placement

When students are required to undertake work placement in the community as a compulsory component to their studies this is not considered as Work Experience.  Students should contact the relevant Faculty Officer for further information as each Faculty have their own processes and procedures for administering placements.
