It is important to advise Finance & Insurance Officer, Financial Services on (02) 4221 5236, of any claim notification or of a situation that may give rise to a possible claim as soon as possible.
General and Product Liability Protection provides cover for the University's legal liability to pay compensation in respect of personal injury to non staff members and damage to a third party's property. The policy also covers the legal liability of any person acting on instruction from or on behalf of the University e.g. staff, students, volunteer workers.
Protection is subject to certain terms, exclusions, conditions and limitations. There is a $5,000 excess under this protection which is borne by the claiming department/faculty.
Do not sign any Indemnity or Hold Harmless clauses without express approval from the Legal & Commercial Unit.
