Summary of Changes:
- Login/Session Timeout - now when you have been inactive for a period of time you will be prompted to re-enter your password to continue and will then be able to return to the screen you were working on.
- Show/Hide Rows (for all screens) - item numbers have been introduced and users can now click to 'hide' preceding rows to view records further down the screen while still being able to view column headings
- Settings - if you click to expand the Initials field to display first and middle names, this setting will be carried across all classes and now remains when you logout of SMP_Central and login again.
- Family Name Link - When you click the Family Name link of a student you can now view a new tab called 'HDR Summary'.
- Define Groups - a warning message will now appear if the total number of students is greater than the total number of group places available. A control to prevent more than one (1) group opening at the same time has also been introduced (with the next available time currently set to 2 min intervals).
- Synonym Statistics - a new menu item has been added to view the Average, Standard Deviation and Enrolment statistics (of both task and final marks) for each instance of a combined class.
- Unit Summary - you can now click to Show/Hide Grades for each class that appears on the Unit Summary. Also, if you Export Students the marks and grades are now included and students in a combined class only appear on the list once.
- Supervising/APRs - APRs have been removed from the Supervising tab and a new APRs tab has been added.
- Advanced Search - if the user has permission, the Sort column on the class roll screen can now be viewed when the class is retrieved using the Advanced Search.

Login/Session Timeout
If you have been inactive for a short period of time you will be prompted to re-enter your password to continue and will then be able to return to the screen you were working on.
The session verification message will appear as follows:
Session Verification
You have been inactive for 35 minutes. Please re-enter your password to continue.
If you are inactive for a extended period of time your session will time out and you will recieve the following message:
Sorry!
Your request could not be completed because your session has timed out or you have not logged in. Click continue to return to SMP Central.

Show/Hide Rows (for all screens)
Users often ask if it is possible for the column headings to remain in place while they scroll down the page.
To address this issue, a new item number function has been introduced whereby users can click on an item number to 'hide' rows and view records further down the screen (while still being able to view the column headings).
Item numbers are listed in the first column (to the far left of the Std Nbr column) and each item number is a link.
If you click on an item number, all items that precede that row will be hidden.
The headling line of the item numbers column will then show a number range in bold (eg 1-3) and these are the item numbers that are currently hidden.
If you click on this bold range, the hidden rows will re-appear on the screen.

If you click to expand the Initials field to display first and middle names, this setting will be carried across all classes and now remains when you logout of SMP_Central and login again.
In the old version, settings defaulted back to initials if you logged out and logged in again.
Note: Sorts are not retained when you logout of SMP_Central.

Warning Message
A warning message will appear if the total number of students (count shown in brackets) is greater than the total numer of group places (count shown in brackets) available.
Control of Opening Times
To prevent more than one (1) group being set to open at the same time, a control of opening times has been introduced
If you click to save an opening time where there is already a group set to open the following message will appear:
“The selected time is not available, do you want to change it to 07/07/2005 19:02”
The control is currently set to 2 min intervals and if you click 'OK' the next available time will automatically be entered into the opening time field. If you click 'Cancel' you can enter another time manually.

When you click to edit the individual tasks, click on Synonym Stats to view the Average, Standard Deviation and Enrolment statistics for each instance of a combined class.

Show/Hide Grades
You can now click to Show/Hide Grades for each class that appears on the Unit Summary. Export Students
If you export students the marks and grades are now included. Students in a combined class only appear on the list once and the correct class ID is displayed.Other names are now also exported in addtion to the initials

APRs have been removed from the Supervising tab and a new APRs tab has been added.
Supervising tab Select to view the students that you are supervising by Course Status (All, Active, Complete, Leave of Absence, Lapsed) and by Supervisor Type (All, Principal, Co-Supervisor and Associate).
APR tab
Select to view Annual Progress Reports for All years (or a selected year). Select to view APRs for All Roles (or specific roles such as Supervisor, HPS, Dean etc).

The Sort column on Class Roll can now be viewed when the class is retrieved using the Advanced Search.
If the user has permission to update Class Roll and Adv Search, the Sort Column can be updated (this development for Education Distance Subjects).
