The following changes have been made for the September 2004 Release of SMP_Central:
Class Roll
Fix - There was a problem updating the sort column for subject synonyms. Users can now update the sort column for all instances of the combined class.
Special Consideration
1) Remove the option in the Reply section that says "Event/Illness may be taken into account in the determination of the final grade or mark and may result in an adjustment to the grade or mark".
2) Add the option "The matter will be referred to the unit assessment committee for consideration".
3) If the 'Granted extension to submit until dd/mm/yyyy' option is selected, display the date the extension was granted until in the Special Consideration Summary, Reply box shows 'Extension' add another box showing the date granted extension to.
4) Make it clear to staff using SMP_Central the date the student applied for special consideration and the date that the documentation was verified by ARD.
Assign Groups
The main screen of the Assign Groups tab has been changed to allow users to assign/remove students to/from tutorial groups without having to edit the individual groups. For large classes, having to edit each individual class was time consuming.
An import function has been added to the Assign groups main screen so that tutorial information can be imported from another source and the sorting functions of the OnLine tutorial system in SMP_Central can still be used. This functionality requires that Tutorial groups are first setup through Define Groups (student will be able to view this information on SOLS, but they can be prevented from enrolling through SOLS using the open and close dates).
A new function has been added to enable users to click to highlight an entire line- If you want to remove/add a student from/to a group, and there are a number of groups on the screen, click to highlight the student so you can scroll across the screen and make selections.
Attendance
Changes to the way users access and enter data in the WUC attendance module. Change primary selection from group class instance to selection of a group, so users have the ability to enter the data for a group for a full week if required.
The highlight entire line function has also been added to the attendance screen.
Unit Summary
Export of SC Information - Users can report on Special Consideration (for a number of classes selected from the Unit Summary tab) and the Special Consideration report can be exported to view all special consideration applications for those classes.
Advanced Search
Campus enrolment count report was developed in SAI (Student Administration Interface - Report System) to address the problems that Subject Synonyms caused with the Advanced Search for Campus searches.
Supervising
Annual Progress Report (APR) - Completion/Review of the APR OnLine for Supervisors, Heads of Postgraduate Studies (HPS) and Deans.
Other
- Continue link when an error is received - Update the continue link to the new formatted URL
- Update History Record Table - Take into consideration the new format
- Security - Use the new Security model.
- Header Applet - Replace Headliner applet with self updating HTML to support broader browser set.
