SMP_Central Version 2.0 (Release Nov 2000)
There have been many improvements included in this release of the SMP. Functionality requested by users which is featured in this release includes:
- Group email facility - email your whole class with the click of a button
- Student email address displayed in the class roll
- A new sortable "group"column for entry of numbers or names of groups such as tutorials and labs
- Customised messages can be displayed to an individual student beside each task mark on the web
The changes made in this release are detailed below:
System message in the SMP title bar area
If there are any system messages about the SMP, they will automatically appear in the title bar area.
Thesis title
Is now displayed in academic record Class Roll tab
- Withdrawn students are hidden by default
- The roll is sorted by Surname by default
- A new sortable "group" column has been added for entry of numbers or names of groups such as tutorials and labs. This column also appears in the Task Marks summary and Task Marks entry screens for sorting purposes (sorting by group)
- A new sortable column has been added containing student wumpus email accounts. Clicking on this field will automatically create an email to the student (using the locally installed email client).
- A new button has been added called "Email Class". Clicking this button will automatically create an email to all of the students currently enrolled in the class (NOT students with a PENDING status) who have a wumpus email account. Please note: The wumpus email account is generated by the students during their first year at the university . Until they create this account - you will not be able to see their wumpus email address on the Class Roll screen, and you will not be able to email them using the "Email Class" function.
Define Tasks tab - summary screen
- The "Display on web" option has been moved to the Task mark edit screen. Therefore the Save / Cancel buttons have also been removed
- The "Must Pass" and "Must Save" display as YES/NO instead of ticks. These are still not linked to any other functions at this stage - they are for user information only.

- The "Display on web" option has been moved to the Task mark edit screen
- When setting up a task, the "Marked out of" and "Weighting" will default to zero if nothing is entered
Task Marks tab - summary screen
- The "Group" column has been added for sorting purposes
- The task summary can now be sorted by task marks within a task (click on the Task Name)
- A new "Edit" button has been added to enter the Task mark edit screens
- If a task is currently displayed on the web "Web" will appear under the Task Name
Task Marks tab - mark edit screen
- The "Display on Web" button has been added to this screen with pop-up confirmation
- The "Group" column has been added for sorting purposes
- A message can be entered beside each student within each task. This is displayed to the individual student when the task marks are displayed on the web.
