COGNOS allow users to gather and report on up to date information from databases, using a range of user friendly graphical and crosstab layout report writing features.

COGNOS PowerPlay is the main reporting tool. Its strengths lie in trend analysis, analysis across time and it has the ability to allow users to drill down from high level data down to a transactional data level. It provides management information that is easy to analyse and the format can be built over almost any database.

The University has initiated the use of this product as an effective, easy way to provide their users with the up to date information on financial, human resources, spacial and student data.
