Key objectives & drivers
Business Continuity aims to design and implement plans to prevent avoidable instances of unplanned interruptions, regardless of cause, and minimise the impact of disaster events that cannot be avoided.
The objective of the Business Continuity Management project is to develop a sustainable, effective mechanism that:
- Enables the University to identify and eliminate risks that may have a major, adverse impact
- Prepares the University so that where elimination of a risk is not possible, its impacts are rendered inconsequential or at worst, are substantially minimised
- Is capable of continual upgrade to meet changing circumstances and will include development and maintenance of an appropriate supporting infrastructure and adoption of a regular review cycle
- Incorporates live testing of response plans where appropriate.
